Coast Longboarding BC Outlaw Series

In true BC fashion, the outlaw series concluded on a treacherous, steep, slippery road hidden in the forest to claim title of Series Champion. Eleven brave souls showed up on the soaking wet Saturday to duke it out. The leaderboard was close and a number of racers could take out the leader. To the delighted surprise of the racers we ran a head to head race format instead of the painstakingly tedious individual time trial format. We were there for one reason, to decide an OUTLAW SERIES CHAMPION.

We drew names out of a hat for each round, and raced out every position, which thankfully did not take too long. The community was supportive and nobody hassled us for being there.
*FYI, the BC scale trail is right at the bottom of the run and is absolutely incredible to see all the work that’s gone into it. Troy Yardwaste has put a ton of hours into it and its worth checking out the cool trails and miniature world in the woods*

It was common for riders to fall off their boards in these slimy conditions but each time someone did that, each time someone chucked it sideways it cleaned the road making each round have better conditions that the last.

Undoubtedly Danger Dane was looking the most dialed in the wet which should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen his performance in world class racing on wet tracks.

Racing was exhilarating! Series leader Troy YW was overtaken by Manu and prevented from making it to the final head to head heat. This made things exciting because Manu could overtake Troy in points in this scenario.

We ran the brackets from last places to finals so everyone could watch the moment we had all come there for.

Thank you to Mike Rutter at Cariboo Brewing for hooking up the series with gear and prizes for all these years. Mike is a real champ that has made these skateboard races even better. Thanks Troy for bringing all the Cariboo gear to the races.

Thank you to Raggie, Lassi, Marco for video and pictures of this race, and Stumanchu and Nic for always helping and spotting corners, running the start & finish line, for always running a professional well organized race. Without these folks this would not be possible.
