Grassroots racing
When meeting up to race skateboards, its important to be stealthy and remain out of sight and out of mind of the public, especially so when congregating in larger groups. Consider it a clandestine operation, to be executed stealthily. Doing so helps stay under the radar and avoid nosy, unwanted conversations with prying locals. This approach increases the odds of skating exciting tracks without pissing off the residents. If asked by the public, do not refer to any meetup as a race. If you must answer what you’re doing, simply say you’re “out skateboarding with other people in the neighbourhood for fun.”
Or a hundred other reasons besides a skateboard race.
